Busy

Well it has been a busy couple of weeks, actually a busy July. I have a few photos to share.

Ramses has finally cleared most of his tummy mess. He still is not hungry and I need to still force feed him and soak him. Puff is enjoying his peas I have been force feeding him too. Cleo and Clyde got a new 50 gallon tank, thanks to my friend Cindy. They seem to like it. Squirt has joined the "big turtle" tank. So far so good. We are keeping a close eye on him.
On other news, I got a huge box of yarn from my friend Nancy. Wow!! That was sweet and very unexpected. THANKS!!
I work tonight - WRC and Tomorrow night- Pampered Chef.
Then it is my bday on Friday. WoW!

Do I look like a tree?.........

Don't answer that......
So for the last few weeks I have been helping out with the 3 cages of juvenile raccoons. The numbers vary from 8 to 10 in each of the 3 cages.
Cage #2 has the most "easy going" raccoon. They tend to stay up in their barrel and/or in the corner, while I clean.
Cage #3 are the feisty escapees. We had a major breakout last night. We had a heck of a time getting 8 or 9 raccoons back in their pen that has a large gate. It was probably very entertaining to watch.
Cage #4 are my climbers. Every week, I have had a raccoon pawing at my back, one time one was riding my back. Then there is one ( I think it's the same one) that loves to try and get into my boot. So as I am hosing the pen down, I have one on or near my back and one climbing in my boot. It takes a multi-tasker to be able to handle this cage. Luckily, I thrive at multi tasking. I fed the 3 bats, the 1 snake, and My favorite tipping snapping turtle, too. Other than the odor, it is just the best job ever. I have to admit, I think the smell gets lodged in my sinuses, because, sometimes I swear I can still smell it on my way home. K~

Lizard tummy trouble

So my little Ramses is having tummy trouble. I went on line and got some info regarding my concerns. I also consulted an exotic vet tech and then went right to my wildlife Vet friend from the WRC. The all advice lead to keeping track of his weight, feeding him pumpkin 4 times a day to loosen things up and soak him in warm water 4 times a day for no less than 20 minutes at a time. Increase his heat for his light bulb and keep an eye on him.
Or maybe.......... He is a she. Upon further examination, this is a VERY likely possibility. The tummy problem might be infertile eggs........to be continued. K~

Yuri

So a couple of days ago, I got up and S said to me
"Mom, do you know where Yuri is"? He said "He is right here, in the window!"
He had been wandering the house, but I never thought he would climb so far.
I put a picture of the couch on the blog so you can see how he climbed.
He really liked his open window. Or maybe it was the crayons and dirt/dust??
I am happy to report, that my couch does not look like that today, and it would be hard for him to climb it.
Aren't animals amazing?

My outdoor nest

We have been home for a few days now, and I feel like I am back in the swing of things. These are photos of my nest before I left. It was a bit more in control. I need to take some updated photos. In one week, things have gone a bit crazy. I like to sit out there in the morning, but the mornings have been a bit chilly, so I just sit in my indoor nest. I have been crocheting up a storm, those posts will be coming soon. K~
